Midnight Sugar Ray is a splendid young Section B Welsh pony stallion, registered with both the Welsh Pony & Cob Society of Canada and the Welsh Pony & Cob Society of America. He stands 13.3 1/2" hh. He was imported him to Canada from California in 2019 and in 2020 we welcomed his first foal.
“Ray” is athletic and charismatic with lovely gaits and a “look-at-me” presence. He has won numerous championships on the line and under saddle, in both the United States and Canada including:
· 2018 American National Champion
· 2019 Qualified for the Royal Winter Fair Champion of Champions class
· 2019 Reserve Grand and Reserve Supreme championships
· 2020 Supreme Champion
· 2023 BEST Tournament Champion & Reserve Ch. Hunter

Ray’s bloodlines heavily feature Gayfields ponies and he has a true-to-type Welsh build, with a lot of bone and substance. Many people who have seen him in person and watched his movement have remarked that “he looks a Warmblood that’s pony sized”.
We are very pleased with offspring Ray is producing. He adds height and bone. His foals are solidly built, quiet-minded, confident, athletic and trainable.

Ray did well on the virtual circuit, scoring an 82% to win his class at the Tegan Welsh Show. Competition is stiff at the virtual shows, as they are generally open to ponies from all over the world. From the WPCS Show, "The World Online Fun show, drew just under 400 entries by competitors from Canada, USA, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Australia, Ireland, the Netherlands, France, and the home nations."
